Ando sem tempo para nada. Tanto para escrever e tão pouco tempo livre. Vai sobrando tempo para a música. Essa que me alimenta. Esta semana sugiro Mayra Andrade. É bom. Muito bom. Tem no som a frescura que andava a fazer falta ouvir. Ouçam que vale a pena.

“(…) Mayra Andrade nasceu em Cuba de pais caboverdianos, viveu em Cabo Verde, no Senegal, em Angola e depois na Alemanha. Desde muito jovem ela apaixona-se pela comédia e pela musica brasileira. Aos 13 anos ela já sobressaia pela sua voz e personalidade. É seleccionada para cantar na Bélgica por ocasião duma conferência com Dalai Lama dirigida aos estudantes. Uma primeira etapa dum percurso fora do comum. (…) Militante da cultura caboverdiana, no palco Mayra impõe seu próprio estilo. Da sua voz grave, quente e aveludada, ela passa com uma facilidade surpreendente da Morna ao Funana e da Coladeira ao Batuque associando-lhes um toque Jazzy único. A sua personalidade e talento trazem um verdadeiro sopro novo à musica das ilhas de Cabo Verde, resultado dum cruzamento de ritmos da África e do Velho Continente.”

PS: Em especial para o pessoal do Kind of Blog, acho que vão gostar das sonoridades desta senhora.

PS2: Um dia depois de ter escrito este post, descobri que na página 6 da “Dica da Semana” de quinta-feira, 17 de Agosto de 2006, edição nº 234, se encontrava a mesma recomendação: Mayra Andrade.

Até a “Dica” anda mais actualizada do que eu....
